Abstrakt

The goal of this study is to present the results of the research concerning
the relationship between the evaluation of self-efficacy and a global self-esteem as
well as to answer the question of the differences in the evaluation of self-efficacy in
different control tasks at people with high and low self-esteem.
To verify the hypothesis 130 students were tested. Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale was
used to measure global self-esteem whereas two different sets of equations were used
to differentiate the degree of controlling the conditions experienced these people.
The results confirm the hypothesis that people with high self-esteem evaluate their
actions higher in relation to people with low self-esteem in higher-level controlled
conditions. Analyses do not support the hypothesis assuming that in lower control tasks
people with high self-esteem also evaluate their self-efficacy higher as compared to
people with low self-esteem. Moreover, the results show that there are no differences
in people with high and low self-esteem regarding the changes in evaluation of self-
-efficacy in low control tasks.
