Abstrakt
The aim of this study was to present the Polish adaptation and validation of the Self-Presentation on Facebook Questionnaire (SPFBQ), originally developed by Michikyan et al. in 2015. The scale measures five types of self-presentation on Facebook: Real Self, Ideal Self, False Self (deception), False Self (comparison/impress), and False Self (exploration). The study sample included 531 adults, comprising 422 women and 109 men, aged between 18 and 64 years. The validation of the adapted tool included a 17-item version of the questionnaire. Its internal structure was examined using confirmatory factor analysis. External validity was confirmed through correlation analysis with criterion variables. The reliability of the scales, measured using Cronbach’s alpha, ranged from .72 to .83. The stability of the tool was found to be satisfactory. The Self-Presentation on Facebook Questionnaire (SPFBQ) may be used for conducting quantitative, especially scientific, research.
