Abstrakt

The subject of this article is to verify the relationship between spirituality, social well-being and meaning in life. The mediating function of meaning in life in the relationship between spirituality and social well-being was also tested. In order to determine the strength and direction of the relationships between the above-mentioned variables and to determine the potential mediation, empirical analyses were carried out. The research covered a group of 147 people, of whom 80 were men (54%) and 67 were women (46%) who completed the SelfReport Questionnaire, the Social Well-Being Questionnaire and the Life Meaning Questionnaire. Studies have shown that there are significant relationships between three psychological variables – spirituality, meaning in life and social well-being. In particular, analyses have shown that spirituality is positively related to meaning in life. Studies also have shown a positive correlation between meaning in life and social well-being. The research results showed that the dimension of the meaning in life, i.e. presence, turned out to play a mediating role in the relationship between spirituality and social well-being in homeless people.
