Abstrakt

Over the past decade infants’ and toddlers’ time spent with media has
notably increased. At present, there is limited empirical knowledge regarding how
children in different countries use media, how environmental variables influence
children’s activities. Presented study examined 343 children’s aged 0;6 to 6;6 media
use. The study provides baseline data about: which media do very young
children use, and how much time do they spend using them, how old are children
when they first starts using each medium. The study shows the social context of
their media use and the relationship between the media environment in the home
and children’s habits about media use and other activities.
